Losing 3.6 trillion yen sounds so much cooler than losing 31 billion dollars.
Just remember too that in Japan you can borrow 3.6 trillion yen overnight at 0% interest... :) ok, ok, it might actually be 0.001%....

Yeah... the rules for collateral were totally messed up, daro? You could value your assets at the initial cost level rather than the current real value...
