Major power failure across Northeast
This is pretty amazing. I just found out about a huge power outage encompassing a number of cities from New York to Toronto. Apparently the subway is out in NYC, and people are all walking and driving out of the city.
Update:
MSNBC reports that the outage is, as far as we know, due to natural causes, not terrorism. They are showing live streaming video at the moment here.
They are showing that the streets are teeming with people attempting to find a way out of New York. All New York flights are grounded.
This is very interesting, and reminds me how fast this kind of information spreads across the planet.
I found this news from my mom in Japan...she called my mobile when I was trying to get out of the office, then said to me that "Are your city OK?".
I couldn't figured out what she is asking, then she continued "NY and Tronto is in Blackouts".
It was obvious that my mom had more reality than me...then I found that why my email didn't reached one of my customer...
It was exact same situation with 9.11. My mom called me when the second plane crashed, at that time, I was chatting with my coworkers.
Hey Kei... Maybe your mom should start a mailing list or something. ;) It sounds like I'd hear about these things faster from her than anywhere else... hehe.

Poor Daddy - he got home at 10:30 last night, after taking two buses and a train.
The first leg of his odyssey home took 4 hours instead of 20 minutes.
I'm glad he took the day off today :)
He used to take the PATH train from Lower Manhattan, since it was only about a block from his office, but that's now gone since 9-11.

That really is just crazy... who thinks NY is not a place one should choose to live from now on? I do, I do!
